ALL ABOUT MR. ROOD
My name is Scott Rood and this is my seventh year teaching Physical Education, my second year teaching at Mills Park Elementary. Prior to teaching at Mills Park I taught PE for four years at Wildwood Forest Elementary School in Raleigh, a local middle school and high school. Working with the younger children is definitely my passion and I enjoy sharing fun activities that promote physical fitness as well as working with students on displaying good sportsmanship and teamwork.
I graduated from East Carolina University in 2009 with my degree in Physical Education. I am a huge Pirates fan and love supporting the PURPLE and GOLD! In the fall you will find me at all the Pirate home games. My favorite NFL team is the New York Giants.
My wife and I live in our home in Apex with our beautiful little girl Braelyn, and our two dogs, PeeDee and Dowdy (both named after our love for ECU). My wife is also a teacher at a local elementary school, and she shares my love for teaching and children. We are expecting our second little girl at the end of January 2017! We enjoy being outside and our weekends are often spent camping, fishing or being out on the boat.
